Olivia the Brave

Olivia is a little girl who wants to do big things like feed the giraffes at the zoo or have sleepovers with her friends, but her brain works overtime and causes sweaty hands and lots of tummy aches.

Inspired by my 8-year-old nephew and also based loosely on my own childhood experiences, Olivia the Brave is an engaging story for children 4-8 years old that introduces the topics of anxiety and mental health in an age-appropriate manner.

My sincere hope is that Olivia and her dog Tater Tot will serve as an encouragement for young people who feel like they see the world differently than their peers; for those who want to do big things but experience barriers; for young people who don’t experience anxiety but have peers who do; and for all parents and guardians!
